CG Technology Inks Deal With Mexican Casino Firm

CG Technology has inked a deal to provide its sports book technologies to a casino operator in Mexico, the firm announced this week in a press release.

CG Technology, formerly Cantor Gaming, will see its mobile sports wagering, back end account management and wallet functions used at eight Logrand Group casinos in Mexico.

Logrand Group owns the country’s largest casino — Jubilee casino in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.

The deal is the first of its kind, for CG Technology, in Latin America, the announcement said.

“We are delighted to work with the Logrand Group and bring our state-of-the-art licensing and software solutions to their casinos,” Lee Amaitis, President and CEO of CG Technology, said.

“CG Technology estimates it has in excess of 25 percent of the Nevada sports wagering market and that over half of these wagers are conducted on mobile devices in Nevada. Our leading expertise in this area means we are perfectly positioned to elevate Logrand Group’s entertainment offering, especially as we introduce customers to the ease, convenience and excitement of mobile sports wagering applications.”

In addition to seeking opportunities in Latin America, Nevada-based CG Technology is exploring race and sports book expansion opportunities internationally.

Technically, Nevada’s current online gaming industry is just dealing in poker, but sports betting via mobile devices, which came well before the first Silver State online poker site, could also be considered a foray into that realm. It’s arguably just a matter of semantics.
